Shane goes for maiden century

Shane Warne has the chance during this Ashes series to become the first bowler ever to have taken 100 test wickets in a country other than his home one. Currently he is sitting third, with 89 wickets in 17 Tests. The record-holder at the moment is Dennis Lillee, who took 96 wickets in 16 Tests in England, followed by Malcolm Marshall who took 94 wickets in 18 matches there.

No 2 on the list after Shane Warne - Shoaib Akhtar.

Interesting statistic there. Question is whats the record for Murali for most wickets in a country outside Sri Lanka.

Interesting one Pratyush, Murali doesn't have a great record away from Sri Lanka, in fact 53 out of his 91 tests have been played in Sri Lanka, for 342 wickets. So his best away effort is 49 wickets from 7 tests in Pakistan.
Compare him to Warney, Murali has only played 3 tests in England. If we look a little closer we see that Murali has only played 2 tests in Australia for 3 wickets at an average of 116.00

So it means then whether Murali manages to be the highest wicket taker in tests, once both players have winded up their careers, this record of Warne will remain with Warne for a while.

Can you give the list of other players in the list and the contemporaries of Warne below him?

One would imagine its McGrath at no 2 among players still playing.

nice, barro. I'd think he'd bloody well make it, and soon- or this ashes series will be more bizarre than the Natwest just concluded...!
